This man single-handedly crippled the internet yesterday. I got back from the gym to multiple status updates about the news, and today there are pages more of them. Whilst it would be extreme to say I feel grief over his death - I mean, it’s not like I knew the guy - it’s definitely sad, and weird. Say what you will about him as a person, but he was first and foremost a massively talented entertainer. Remember the Time was one of my favourite music videos as a kid - it was so creative and fresh and enthralling - and Black or White and Beat It made me want to be able to dance - he could move in so many ways, it was unreal, the “absolute mastery of movement” as Martin Scorsese put it. I was part of a chorus singing Heal the World in kindergarten, I wanted to wear a female tux to Founders Day Dinner because of You Rock My World, and it took me years before I understood what Billie Jean meant. I guess despite the fact that he was most popular before I was 2, he was still a part of my childhood, and still in a smaller way part of my life now. So RIP Michael Jackson, I hope you’re in a better place now.

Random fact about a girl living in London (who would really rather be a California girl, minus the valley girl stereotype): I really miss playing The Sims.
P.S. Gambit, if you're out there - call me.
